Vrindavan, 2019.03.26 (VT): On March 25, UP CM Yogi Adityanath and MP Hema Malini visited Vrindavan’s Banke Bihari Temple to seek blessings for the upcoming LS Elections. UP Power Minister, Shrikant Sharma was also present.
Entry for general public at gate No.1 was restricted 45 minutes before the Chief Minister’s arrival. The CM walked on foot from the VIP parking to the temple, amidst heavy security.
The BJP leaders arrived at the temple at around 11.30 in the morning and spent nearly half-an-hour there. CM Yogi did a special ‘puja’ for Thakurji in the presence of temple priest Shri Rajat Goswami.
After performing the rituals, he made an entry in the temple’s visitor diary, addressing Bihariji as the ‘param ishta deva of Braj Bhumi’.
The Darshan was broadcast live on BJP Uttar Pradesh’s official FB page, despite the ban on videography inside temple premises. The video also showed the Deity, which is being taken as a violation of tradition by some people.
After taking Thakurji’s Darshan, Malini filed her nomination from Mathura constituency at the collectorate office. She was accompanied by four proposers: Dr Gopi Goyal, MLA Pooran Prakash, Narendra Sikarwar and Chetan Swaroop Parashar.
Later in the day, Yogi Adityanath also addressed an election rally for Hema Malini at Seth BN Poddar Inter College, Mathura. Development, Hindutva, cow protection and saints were the main talking points.
Congress State Secretary and candidate from Fatehpur Sikri, Shri Raj Babbar also visited Banke Bihari and Radha Sneh Bihari temples in Vrindavan on Sunday. Recollecting his childhood visits to Vridanvan with his grandmother, he said that, for the one who is blessed by Bihariji, there’s no looking back in life.
