Ajhai / Vrindavan, May 17th 2015: Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Shri Shiv Pal Singh Yadav laid the foundation stone of the Bhaktivedanta Swami Gurukula and International School (BGIS) at Ajhai village, in Vrindavan. He performed the Anantha Shesh sthapana puja while laying the foundation stone. The students of the Gurukula welcomed the minister with garland and performing cultural programme. The BGIS is the educational wing of Iskcon Vrindavan.
In his address after completing the ritual of laying the foundation stone, Shri Yadav said, “I congratulate the management of the BGIS for establishing the International School in the rural area of Vrja. This school is unique as it builds the character of the students who get education here. The students learn the moral and spiritual values in this institution, which is propagated all over the world after they complete their education here.”
The minister accepted the demands of the Gurukula’s management to build a new approach road from the Raal village to the land where the new Gurukula is to be built. He ordered the District Magistrate, Shri Rajesh Kumar who was also present there, to get the formal approval from the government and get the road built.
The minister said that he was well aware of the plight of Yamuna, and instructed Shri Deepak Singhal, the irrigation secretary to get 300 cusec extra water released in the Yamuna from the Ganga canal.
Shri Gopal Krishna Goswami, the GBC member who heads the Vrindavan Iskcon said, “Out of hundred acre land, 40 acres will be used for goshala and developing botanical garden. The remaining 60 percent of the land will be used for the residential school which will be equipped with the modern facilities of laboratory, Yoga classes, dance classes etc. He further added that the academic of the Gurukula are in the best hands as many of the teachers are IIT educated.
Shri Deepak Singhal, Sunil Maheshwari also addressed the event. Deputy Director of the BGIS and the in-charge of the new school project Shri Radha Kanta Das moderated the event.
Mahant Fuldol Bihari Das, Shri Vikram Bhuwalka, Jagannath Poddar, Mahant Tamal Krishna Das, Dr. Chandra Prakash Sharma, Iskcon Vrindavan temple president Shri Panchagauda Das, BGIS director Shri Leela Purushottam Das, Go Sevak Alok ji, Madhumangal Shukla, Shri Mukesh Sikarwar, Shri Bhanu Yadav, Shri O.P.Sharma, Thakur Than Singh, Shri Bihari Ram Pehelwan chairman Choumuhan, Shri Rajendra Singh advocate, Gulab Singh, Sunil Maheshwari, Shri Nirmal Krishna Das, Shri etc. were present during the Bhumi pujan ceremony.
