Vrindavan, 2011.09.28 (DJ): “There are innumerable opportunities to expand tourism in the Braj area. If we follow up on them, it can not only help increase government revenues, but also be a way of decreasing unemployment,” said Ram Kishan Agrewal, chairman of the Basera Group yesterday.
Speaking at a colloquium in relation to World Tourism Day Tuesday at the Basera Hotel in Vrindavan, said that through tourism we learn about other cultures, which broadens our minds and increases our understanding. “The purpose of World Tourism Day is link countries and peoples.”
Hotel manager C.P. Varma said that this year, Egypt was the host country for the official celebrations of World Tourism Day
Basera Group CEO Devendra Sharma said that Vrindavan and Mathura have many things that make them potential great tourist attractions. “We are now known throughout the world for our religion, temples, arts and other aspects of our culture.”
It does not seem that any discussion centered on improving the product and brand of Braj. This is something that needs serious thought. We will keep Sept. 27 on our calendar and be there next year.
