Vrindavan, 2018.06.01 (VT): Senior BJP leader, Dr. Subramaniam Swami reaffirmed his commitment to saving the Yamuna and said that the BJP is committed to reclaiming the important Hindu pilgrimage places, starting with building the Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi temple in Ayodhya.
He said that the Government is waiting for the Supreme Court decision but is determined to rebuild the temple and will pass the laws necessary to make it happen.
Swami informed that BJP leaders will celebrate Diwali in Ayodhya, in the tradition that began last year. He said that he is confident that the court decision will be in favour of rebuilding the temple and that the Government plans to inaugurate the construction during the Diwali festival.
Speaking at a press conference at a hotel in Raman Reti on Thursday, Swami said that he was able to fast track the Ram Janma Bhoomi case which had not been given a hearing for seven years. He said that he used his rights as a citizen to make an appeal that his right to worship was being denied. The leader said that the case should be heard in July.
He there should not be a mosque at Shri Krishna Janma Bhoomi and that the Kashi Vishwanath temple should be rebuilt in the original place. He said that 40,000 temples were destroyed during the Mughal rule and that all should be rebuilt.
Dr Subramaniam also said that he does not agree with the implementation of the GST and that the high petrol prices are a failure of the Government. The Rajya Sabha leader said that petrol should not be more than 35 Rupees per litre and that petrol prices should not be decided by a committee.
