Vrindavan, 2020-02-28 (VT): BJP leader and MP from Mathura constituency, Hema Malini recently visited Govind Dev ji temple in Vrindavan and expressed her intention to conserve, develop and promote it as heritage.
MVDA vice-chairman Nagendra Pratap and manager of Ujjwal Braj Anant Sharma accompanied the minister during the visit on Thursday evening. After having ‘darshan’ of Govind Devji, she was taken around the temple and briefed about its architectural grandeur.
Exploring the precincts, Hemaji expressed disbelief about the muted, yet awe-inspiring and spiritually moving presence of this majestic piece of art, and how people, including herself, know so little about it.
The MP said that she wants devotees and art/culture lovers from all around the world to come to Govind Dev ji to understand its spiritual significance for Braj and also appreciate its incredibly grand and intricate art/architecture.
In addition to developing the temple as heritage, MVDA is tasked with linking it to the Heritage Walks project in order to make it easily accessible.
Govind Dev ji is one of the seven ancient temples, ‘Sapta Devalayas’ of Vrindavan.
