2019.07.16 (VT): The format of the gazette is ready and details are being finalized for the Shrine Board’s entrance as the administrator of Braj’s top-earning temples.
At a hearing of the National Green Tribunal on Monday, Additional Chief Secretary of Tourism Avanish Kumar Awasthi asked for a further 15 days to prepare the guidelines.
The Chief Secretary said that the UP religious places planning and development bill 2019 has been drafted. The bill is undergoing consideration for cabinet approval.
The NGT has been active in checking arrangements made for the Mudiya Mela, which is currently underway across Braj and especially in Govardhan where lakhs of pilgrims are performing Parikrama for the observance of Sanatan Goswami’s Disappearance Day.
On the order of the NGT, Commissioner of Police, IPS AV Shukla Mundia observed the arrangements and reported to the tribunal.
The NGT panel also expressed displeasure over delays in filing an affidavit regarding trees that were cut down on Govardhan Parikrama Marg. The next hearing of this matter has been scheduled for 19th July.
